RESEARCH AND INNOVATION
The Spanish National Center for Technological Development (CDTI) has awarded €435,083 to the project “Four Pillars for Enterprise Excellence in AI,” which received 85 points out of 100, the highest score in the call.Pangeanic Tops the Innoglobal 2025 Ranking in Spain
The Center for Technological Development and Innovation, known as CDTI Innovación, a Spanish public business entity under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, has published the results of the Innoglobal 2025 call.
In this competitive funding program, Pangeanic BI Europa ranked first among the beneficiaries with its project “Four Pillars for Enterprise Excellence in AI”, focused on the development of artificial intelligence solutions for corporate environments.
The proposal received an evaluation score of 85 points out of 100, the highest score in the entire call, and was awarded €435,083 in funding. This result provides independent institutional validation of Pangeanic’s capabilities in research, technological development and international cooperation.
Artificial Intelligence for Organizations That Need Control and Trust
The project addresses one of the main challenges in enterprise AI adoption: moving from experimental demonstrations to systems that can operate reliably inside real organizations, including those that handle sensitive information, intellectual property or regulated processes.
Its focus is aligned with Pangeanic’s track record in language technologies, multilingual data for AI, anonymization, model evaluation, human alignment and the deployment of private and sovereign infrastructure.
Access to foundation models alone is not enough. Companies need control over the data used by those models, reliable methods for evaluating output quality, mechanisms for reducing incorrect responses and governance over the infrastructure on which AI systems operate. The project will research methodologies and technical components designed to strengthen these capabilities in corporate settings.
A Project Conceived Through Technical and Business Experience
The initial concept for the project was developed by Amando Estela, Pangeanic’s current VP of Revenue and former CTO, together with José Miguel Herrera, Head of Machine Learning.
Together, they defined the technical and strategic approach that gave rise to the proposal submitted to Innoglobal 2025, combining Pangeanic’s experience in applied research, product development, language technologies, AI data and enterprise solution deployment.
The combination of technical and commercial perspectives helped orient the project toward real corporate adoption challenges, including data control, model adaptation, security, continuous evaluation and the development of systems that can be integrated into operational business processes.
The Four Pillars for Enterprise Excellence in AI
The project is structured around four complementary areas of research and development that address the core requirements of reliable, governable artificial intelligence designed for complex enterprise environments.
- Data governance and sovereignty: methodologies and architectures that allow organizations to retain control over the information used by their AI systems, including private deployments, controlled cloud environments and solutions installed within customer-owned infrastructure.
- Model alignment and adaptation: processes for adjusting and evaluating models using specialist knowledge and expert human feedback, with the aim of adapting model behavior to specific business objectives, reducing bias and improving operational safety.
- Multilingual AI data operations: the collection, preparation, curation, annotation, anonymization and governance of data used to train, adapt and evaluate AI systems across multiple languages and domains.
- Continuous quality evaluation: mechanisms for measuring the consistency, accuracy, safety and reliability of responses generated by enterprise AI systems, as well as detecting errors, drift and ungrounded responses.
International Technological Cooperation and ERDF Cofunding
Innoglobal is a CDTI program designed to support business-led research and development projects carried out within international technological cooperation frameworks. Its purpose is to promote cross-border collaboration, applied knowledge creation and the development of solutions with the potential to compete in international markets.
The call forms part of Spain’s State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research and is cofunded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
This framework strengthens the international dimension of the project and connects it with European priorities in technological competitiveness, strategic autonomy, data protection and responsible artificial intelligence.
Institutional Validation of Pangeanic’s Technology Strategy
The evaluation recognizes a line of work that Pangeanic has developed for more than two decades: transforming language research, specialist data and artificial intelligence technologies into systems that can be used securely and under the control of enterprises and public administrations.
The funding will accelerate the project’s research and development activities and support progress toward enterprise solutions aligned with the security, governance, transparency and control requirements of the European market.
These activities will be developed with regard to the European Union Artificial Intelligence Act, which entered into force in 2024 and is being applied progressively according to its implementation timetable.
“The CDTI decision confirms the technical strength of Pangeanic’s approach to controllable, sovereign enterprise AI. This validation allows us to advance architectures through which organizations can benefit from modern language models without surrendering control over their data, processes or intellectual property.”
— Manuel Herranz, Founder and CEO of Pangeanic
A Track Record Built on Applied Research
The Innoglobal project joins Pangeanic’s broader track record in national and European research projects covering machine translation, language resources, multilingual data, anonymization, evaluation and language technologies.
This continuity between research and commercial deployment allows Pangeanic to transform R&D results into practical solutions for data preparation, model adaptation, AI system evaluation and private infrastructure deployment.
