The NTEU consortium, led by Pangeanic since 2019, has successfully completed the bulk data upload to the ELRC, enabling neural machine translation...
Nice will be the meeting point for several representatives of the translation industry on April 19th. The reason for this is that the Language Resource Board (LRB) of the
European Language Resource Coordination (ELRC) will organize a symposium at the Westminster Hotel, which will be attended by our colleague Amando Estela representing Pangeanic. Amando will present and talk about IADAATPA, a European project that we are currently carrying out in Pangeanic together with other European companies dedicated to new technologies. Learn more about him and take this opportunity to meet him in person during the symposium.
Amando has a degree in Theoretical Physics and a Master's degree in Astrophysics from the University of Valencia (Spain) and Southampton (United Kingdom). He has done IT research with IBM at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center, NY, USA. CISCO Network Engineer and IBM Tivoli Systems Certified. He has worked as CTO, Project Manager of Business Development in Spain, France, USA and UK for Telecommunication, Online Games and Banking companies. Leading Internet projects since 2003 in the areas of Document Management System, Workflow, Community Management and Messaging Platforms. What is ELRC?
ELRC, European Language Resource Coordination, is an organization dedicated to the coordination of media in European languages, within which we can find different departments, among them:- ELRC Consortium: is made up of several researchers whose mission is to explore innovative techniques within the translation sector, applying new technologies. It is run by the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). It is worth mentioning that this department is the organizer of the Congress that will take place in April.
- ELRC Network: manages, maintains and coordinates the various relevant language resources in all the official languages of the EU and the countries associated with the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). Its mission is that these activities help to improve the quality, coverage, and performance of automated translation solutions within the context of CEF's current and future digital services.
- ELRC Data: implements the acquisition of additional language resources and related language processing services, as well as their provision for the CEF platform language resource repository. Its objectives are to acquire high-quality language resources in all EFC languages, which in turn are compatible with intellectual property rights, and to contribute to and complement the collection of language resources in the Member States. Its main objective is to achieve an acceptable level of machine translation quality in key areas of CEF's Digital Service Infrastructures (DSI), where multilingual functionality is required.
