Pangeanic will be exhibiting at the Nordic Translation Industry Forum in Helsinki

Pangeanic will be attending the Nordic Translation Industry Forum in Helsinki from the 22 – 24 of November 2017. Along with language professionals from 30 other countries, Pangeanic will be there in full force to introduce its business technologies for translation companies. Helsinki “We are very excited to see what the Nordic language community has to offer. In return we will demonstrate that world class technology can now be availableto all. We at Pangeanic believe that knowledge is power and it is best shared. We are already proving that it’s possible to compete on a level playing field with larger enterprises no matter the size of your company if you have the right tools,”says Garth Hedenskog, Sales Director at Pangeanic. As many of you in the language industry will know, Pangeanic has developed a set of  3 language technologies and tools…not for ourselves, but for anyone interested in language technology and how it can be used to drive business and increase productivity. We want to change the way the language industry does business and this can only be done if language companies change their role from  passive translators to  creators of multilingual services. ActivaTM Logo Centralized TMs for massive leveraging were until now the expensive realm of powerful LSPs. We introduce  ActivaTM as a result of an EU research program. You can pull all your translation assets together into this Elastic Search-based ultrafast database capable of reversing language pairs and creating new language combinations. Not onlydoes it do this, but it also creates translations when the new sentence has only changed 1 or 2 words. And better still, it links to machine translation via a powerful API (either public engines orthe neural machine translation engines we can create for you). Cor logo Cor is a web-based online web crawler that will help you track your client’s new publications (or deleted parts), count the number of words on a website, convert it to xliff for translation and send it back for publication. It is not proxy translation. You can host it in your own infrastructure or cloud and deploy it as an iframe in any web page. It comes with an online vendor tool and quotation tool so any LSP can provide website translation services anywhere in the world. Cor can also manage document translation in a highly automated way and no job is started without card payment, another key feature of the system.       Lastly, our  neural machine translation developments show that the starting point of the technology is three or four times higher than statistical in terms of human evaluation. Having walked the statistical walk for the last 10 years, we are pretty optimistic about it. We will highlight the current limitations and heavier hardware requirements which make neural  the thing to use but not the  thing to host.
